The Catholic Bishops of Montana, through the ministry of the Montana Catholic Conference, issued an important Call to Defend Life in response to Montana Constitutional Initiative 128 (CI-128).
On August 28, 2024 the Bishops issued a second letter, through the ministry of MCC Social Advocacy, which invites all Montanans to read the full text of CI-128 and to be informed about the real threat the initiative poses.

Prayer & Wednesday Abstinence
After each Mass, the faithful are asked to pray an Our Father, Hail Mary, and Glory Be. Along with prayer, our Montana Bishops are inviting all the faithful to adopt some form of abstinence on Wednesdays. Giving up meat for the day is the traditional form of abstinence, but prayerfully sacrificing a comfort or pleasure of one’s own choosing is in keeping with the observance as we seek God’s mercy and His special protection for the unborn. This optional observance will continue through voting in November.
