Rite of Election

The Rite of Election is the second step on the catechumen's journey.  They will write their names in the Book of the Elect as a promise of faithfulness to the call they have received to follow Christ.  This step is followed by a more intense period of Lenten Preparation.  Finally, at the Easter Vigil, they will be baptized, confirmed, and receive their first Eucharist --they will be fully initiated into the Body of Christ.
