There is a tradition in Rome of the Seven Pilgrim Churches which goes back to St. Philip Neri in the 16th century. Every year, pilgrims go to each of the seven most important churches in Rome in one day on a walking pilgrimage during Holy Week.
We would like to imitate this in our community to pray and offer penance for the Church, our diocese, our Billings parishes, and our Billings Catholic Schools community.
When: Holy Thursday, 4/17 at 9 am Where: Start at St. Bernard You may park at St. Patrick, a bus will provide transportation to St. Bernard at 8:45 am How Long: 14 miles on foot What to bring: Good shoes, water, snacks, sack lunch, rosary.
We will begin walking at St. Bernard Parish at 9 am, visit all five parishes in Billings, both BCS school chapels, eat lunch together, and end at St. Patrick Co-Cathedral in time to attend Holy Thursday Mass at 6 pm. If you would like to park at St. Patrick, a bus will provide transportation to St. Bernard. The bus will leave at 8:40 am. See proposed itinerary below.
Anyone can join for all or part of the pilgrimage as you are able. If you have any questions, please contact Fr. John Pankratz at [email protected] or 406-259-3389.
